This year's Oughterard Show will take place on the 25th of August 2019.
It is believed that the first show to take place in Oughterard was held in 1911 at a location then known as “The Paddock” or Roe’s yard at the rear of present-day Kenny’s on Main Street.
Once more the Oughterard Show is gathering together its members and volunteers to organize the 56th show which takes place at Corribdale Grounds and Oughterard Community Centre on Sunday 25th August.
There are numerous classes for horses, ponies, cattle, sheep and dogs, and there is a domestic arts section.
As usual we are hosting the Final of the Powers Quarry Ridden Performance Championship and the Western Region Irish Draught Foal Final.
The Domestic Arts section will be held in the Community Centre where there are categories suitable for everyone in the family from grandparents exhibiting their traditional skills, to children exhibiting their drawings or painted hard boiled eggs.
