November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

It is also the date in 1989 when the UN General assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Child Talks

November 20 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

The ‘Child Talks’ Event will take place in Dublin’s City Hall on November 20th. Like the ‘Ted Talks’ this will be a chance for 8 brave children to talk about what it’s like to grow up in Ireland in 2018. This will be live streamed to schools around Ireland, ensuring thousands of children will join in the conversation. There will be over 200 people in the audience, with a mixture of young people and adults.

Take Overs!

We’re organising various takeovers around the country! Children will spend the day doing various amazing activities: from running Departments in the Government to training with the Irish soccer team.

35-40 children and young people from around Europe (including 2 young people from Ireland) will take over the European Parliament in Brussels and have the opportunity to meet with MEPs.  They willdiscuss what the Europeam Parliament can do to improve children’s rights.
