The Moving Crib, Dublin
The Moving Crib at 42 Parnell Square West, Dublin 1 has now opened its doors for its 62nd year this Christmas season on 27th November. A multi-generational, FREE event that never fails to entertain both children and adults alike.
A delightful experience that brings us back to simpler times and has fascinated generations of children from Dublin and all over Ireland for more than half a century.
In fact, it has been a key feature of Christmas in Dublin for so long that parents and grandparents, who visited the Moving Crib as children, are now bringing their children and grandchildren to enjoy and re-live this Christmas experience.
Winding your way down to the basement of this stunning Georgian building where you are greeted with a montage of Biblical, historical and fun stories, including Noah’s Ark and The Wise Men: plus many more other scenes and competitions, as well as an illusion wall and a little touch of magic. All sure to guarantee a fun day out for all the family! Children are encouraged to draw and colour a Leaf, cut out the shape and bring it with them so that they can be placed in the Garden of Eden forever.
The Moving Crib is a national visitor attraction and has been described in many news and media outlets as the best free show for children over the festive period and one of the nicest sights in Dublin.
The Moving Crib, the mention of which always evokes a smile and fond memories of Dublin in the 'rare auld times’ is the only one of its kind built in Ireland (if not the world); it is a historical and entertaining experience. This Dublin landmark is as captivating today as it was when it first opened its doors in 1956 and admission is still FREE.
