Fota Wildlife Park celebrates 35 years with a series of fun and educational events this summer. This weekend visitors can enjoy yoga classes at Cypress Lawn with Bikram Yoga Cork. There are two classes on Sunday suitable for all the family. The classes are free with your admission but booking in advance in essential as spaces are limited.

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, the most important event in the traditional music calendar, takes place in Drogheda, County Louth from 12th to 19th August.

For many, it is the culmination of months of hard work and practice as they compete against fellow musicians, singers and dancers to achieve the recognition of being an All-Ireland champion while for others it is a week-long celebration with lots of music, dance, song and late nights!

Carlingford Oyster Festival

A four-day celebration of local shellfish this weekend with lots of tasty food and family fun including Magic Show, Face Painting, Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Free Kayaking in the Harbor, Children’s Funfair,  Bouncing Castles and lots more.

Cork City Military Show

Tullamore Show

The Tullamore Show on Sunday is one of Ireland's premier agricultural events. Every year it attracts the best cattle, sheep, and equine breeders alongside entrants for its other 1,000 plus competitions with a total prize-fund of €175,000. 

It is Ireland's largest one-day show for the farming fan to fashion follower, the competitive contestant to craft, motor and music, for shoes and shopping to entertainment and under 12s go free with a paying adult.

Loughree Monster Festival

The Lough Ree Monster Festival starts on Friday when the monster arrives to the quayside at 9:30pm. There will be live music all weekend including the traditional children's disco and a Jiving competition in the Big Red Barn.

Birr Vintage Week and Arts Festival

The 50th Annual Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival continues until August 12th with events and activities this weekend including a spectacular fireworks display on Thursday, art workshop and walking tour on Friday, a soap-xox derby on Saturday and lots more.

Annual Maiden of the Mournes

The 29th International Maiden of the Mournes festival starts on Sunday with the Grand Opening Parade in Warrenpoint on Sunday afternoon.

Puck Fair

One of Ireland’s oldest and longest celebrated fairs is held on 10th, 11th and 12th August every year with twelve hours of free family street entertainment including live music, street circus, bonny baby, drum workshop, pet show, magic shows, puppet show and a spectacular firework display.

Kilkenny Arts Festival

The Kilkenny Arts Festival takes place from 9th to 19th August with the opening festival this weekend burting out onto High Street outside the Tholsel, Kilkenny’s iconic town hall in the heart of the medieval city with street performers and acrobats, dancing flash mobs, face painting and general mayhem for all ages! 

Jervis Summer Kids Camp

Every Saturday in July and August, Jervis Street has a programme of free family events in their Enchanted Summer Garden.

Playstival

Ireland's newest festival celebrating play, fun & imagination in Airfield Estate. Playstival celebrates play, imagination and fun with a range of hands-on, fun and imaginative games in eight themed play universes including Animal Farm, Construction Site, Children's Island and the Wild West.

There will be tasty and healthy food all weekend provided by The Happy Pear.

Wild Air Run

Inflatable obstacle course over 5k in Marley Park on Saturday, now with water guns to give other runners a soaking. Suitable for fitness fanatics and families, the huge inflatables test your agility and stamina while the water guns will just be a lot of fun.

Clonmany Festival

The annual festival concludes this weekend with sand building, pebble art and raft racing on Tullagh beach on Saturday and a vintage car and tractor rally and modified car show on Sunday, as well as live music every night.

Sligo Summer Festival
