A selection of things to do in Ireland this weekend.

Cheerios Childline Breakfast

KBowl in Kilkenny is offering a FREE game of bowling, breakfast, a sing-along on their karaoke machine and tea/coffee. All you have to do is make a donation on the day in aid of Childline and the ISPCC. Childline is the only 24-hour listening service which seeks to support and empower children and young people in Ireland.

National Dairy Show

This is the 35th year of the biggest indoor show in Ireland. Join people from all over the country who will descend on Millstreet to enjoy the competitions as well as fun events and entertainment.

National Museums of Ireland

Take a tour of the iconic treasures in the National Museum of Archaeology, including the ‘Tara’ Brooch and the Ardagh Chalice, in a free drop-in activity on Saturday from 3 pm or explore (and possibly handle) some of the artefacts from the collections held in the Museum of Decorative Arts & History in Collins Barracks on Sunday from 3pm-4pm.

Baboró: International Arts Festival for Children

The festival continues all week with the aim of inspiring children to engage with the world through their experience of the creative arts. Events include children's theatre, workshops, visual art, book readings and more.

Wexford Fringe

Celebrating its 65th birthday this year, the Fringe will run from Thursday 19th of October to Sunday 5th of November. The festival showcases the very best of Irish Arts has over 300 events, many of which are free, including theatre, music, opera, comedy, art and photography exhibitions, walking tours and children's events.

Imagine Arts Festival

Imagine is a voluntary run festival providing over 100 events over 10 days across Waterford, providing a platform for local talent and international artists. 

There will be live performances, exhibitions and interactive performances for people of all ages, including dance, film, visual art, theatre, spoken word and literature, as well as classical, contemporary and traditional music. The Battle of the Blaas sounds like a fun addition this year.

Halloween Family Fun Day Fundraiser

Helplink Support Services is a non-profit organisation providing Mental Health and Conflict Resolution services and they are running a fundraiser this Saturday in the Rowing Club in Galway. There is music, dance workshops, arts & crafts, fancy dress and lots of fun, all in aid of a great cause.

Tullamore Diecast Toy & Model Show

Helping to raise money for the Laois Offaly Families for Autism, the event on Sunday will feature exhibits including Farming, Construction, Doll's Houses and Radio Controlled.

Conamara Sea Week

A fun multi-disciplinary festival celebrating the marine heritage of Conamara with music workshops, art exhibitions, concerts, talks, walks, children’s activities, sports events, lots of great music and buckets of fun for all the family. It starts this Sunday with a Family Fun Day and Kite Making workshop.

Belfast International Arts Festival 

The festival continues throughout the weekend with Belfast Open Studios, see how artists work, take a glimpse into the creative processes and meet 150 artists working in the city, and a musical journey through the battlefields in Boys of the Island, recognising soldiers from the island of Ireland who fought and died during the First World War using film, imagery, music and narrative. 

Halloween Market

Halloween is big business now and there are so many bits and bobs required that you are always missing something. Not anymore, as the market returns to Longford this Saturday with Halloween theme traders. There will also be fancy dress, face painting and lots of fun!

World Surf Kayak Championship

Northern Ireland will host the World Championships for the very first time, providing the opportunity to see some of the worlds best athletes compete in individual and team competitions from the East Strand in Portrush.
