Castlecomer Discovery Park

Derrinstown Race Family Day

Family Raceday featuring the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial is the ideal opportunity to get the whole family out to enjoy the racing at Leopardstown.

Midleton Arts Festival

Take an art trail through Midleton, listen to music in the market, and poetry in the bookstore, learn songwriting, watch great theatre, make a mask at a Jazz Masked Ball as part of the Midleton Arts Festival.

Fun children’s events include the incredible Junkyard Playground, Busking Competition, children's and teens Film in the Courthouse and drumming at the Kindred Spirits Sculpture.

Balydoyle Mayfest

Free fun for all the family on Sunday from 1pm in Baldoyle Racecourse Park. There will be art in the park, local exhibits, bouncy castles, crazy golf, live music and dance, including a performance from the local Song & Dance crew.

Pond Dipping, Botanic Gardens

This Saturday the Irish Wildlife Trust has organised a free, fun children's event to explore the diversity of insects and minibeasts living in and around the pond at the National Botanic Gardens.

Bealtaine Festival

Join people all over Ireland, taking part in events involving music, art, dance, cinema, writing, theatre, heritage and more during May in the Bealtaine Festival that celebrates the arts and creativity as we age.

This weekend's events include free public tours in the Hugh Lane Gallery at 2pm on Sunday, a fun fancy dress event, Me & Nu & Grandma too in the Visitor Centre at Coole Park, Gort at 3pm and a workshop on the records available at Glasnevin Cemetery by resident Genealogist, Lynn Brady, on Saturday at 2pm.

Bird's EuroShow Funfair Castlebar

OBird's EuroShow Funfair at the Military Barracks in Castlebar runs until Sunday, May 13th, offering a fun atmosphere with fantastic rides and attractions for all of the family. They also have a fair in Connolly's Field, Dundalk beside Tesco Extra and Lidl until May 13th.

Celebrating its 9th edition this year, the PhotoIreland Festival brings another exciting edition packed with free exhibitions, workshops, photobook launches and talks throughout Dublin during May.

Irish Felt Fairy Workshop

Learn to make your own Felt Fairy in this adult wool workshop in Roscommon from 10-6pm on Saturday where you will be taught new skills in a fun environment. You don't need any experience and you will go home with a finished product. Booking in advance.

Fiddle Fair

The Baltimore Fiddle Fair is a unique festival in that it consistently features a world class line-up of national and international artists, yet presents them in intimate settings in the beautiful seaside village of Baltimore, West Cork. This year's 26th edition features performances from Rhiannon Giddens + Ahlberg, Ek & Roswall, The Ulaid with Duke Special,  Brittany & Natalie Haas + Pennou Skoulm and many more.

Dunmore East Walking Weekend

Guided Coastal Walks on Saturday and Sunday with local historians & guides around the beautiful Waterford village that are very suitable for walkers without any great level of fitness who enjoy a moderate challenge with no steep climbing.

Oranmore Arts Festival

The first ever Oranmore Arts Festival will take place from the 10th to 13th May.

Whether you’re nuts about birds or squirrels or just want to find out more, then come along on this family fun box building event on Saturday in Cregagh Wood with your local Biodiversity Officer, Rachel Bain and Glens Red Squirrel Group.

Places are limited so free registration in advance is required and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
