Mayo Dark Sky Festival | Celebration of Mayo's pristine dark skies
Mayo Dark Sky Festival is a three-day celebration of the beautiful county of Mayo and the skies above it.
This is the fourth year of the festival which aims to educate, entertain and inspire people, helping them to better understand and appreciate the importance of unpolluted natural skies. The festival is jointly hosted by Newport, Mulranny and Ballycroy, the three rural communities surrounding Ireland's only Dark Sky Park.
During the day time there are plenty of events including talks and workshops on astronomy, environmental matters, culture and heritage, science shows, photography, robotics workshops, planetarium shows and lots more.
Evening events will explore local heritage to complement the night-time theme, including torchlit walks and stargazing, storytelling, magic and music
