About

The DSPCA, founded in 1840, is a not for profit, charitable organisation that is dedicated to the promotion of animal welfare and the protection and rehabilitation of sick, abused or neglected animals.

If you wish to report an emergency, cruelty or neglect please ring 01-4994700. Check out our website www.dspca.ie for more information.

Each year the DSPCA receives more than 80,000 phone calls from the public, responds to more than 10,000 emergency calls and rescues, rehabilitates, releases and rehomes thousands of animals and wildlife. The DSPCA is Ireland’s largest animal welfare organisation and has been serving the public since 1840. We are able to this because of the generous support from animal lovers just like you. We rely on your help to meet our nearly €2 million annual budget. We are not a government agency and receive only 5% of our total budget in grants from the government.
